Man killed in North Sacramento neighborhood
SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was shot and killed in a North Sacramento apartment complex Friday night.Sacramento police responded to the 600 block of Plaza Avenue around 7:53 p.m. after getting reports of a shooting, Officer Doug Morse said. The witness reported hearing multiple gunshots.At the scene, police found a man in his 20s injured in the courtyard of the apartment complex. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Morse said just after 8 p.m., the fire department pronounced the man dead at the scene.It is unclear what led to the shooting and motive behind the shooting is unknown.Morse said there was no arrest and no suspect description. Sacramento man accused of selling guns across state lines arrested by federal agents
SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento man faces federal charges after prosecutors said he bought guns in Nevada that he sold to a gang member in California.Federal authorities on Tuesday arrested 27-year-old Dejon Andrade on suspicion of illegally dealing firearms, interstate travel with intent to unlawfully deal in firearms and other charges."The individuals who illegally buy and sell firearms across state lines to arm dangerous gangsters are just as responsible for the violent crimes committed by the criminals as those who pull the triggers on these ill-gotten weapons," Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Agent in Charge Joseph M. TURLOCK, CA - A Turlock man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of child molestation.Turlock police Sgt. Stephen Webb said the suspect, Sadik Algharazi, is accused of preying on a child over several months. Webb did not provide the age of the child nor how the police department was made aware of the alleged crimes.Det. Turlock woman, man accused of torture
TURLOCK, CA - A Turlock woman and man have been arrested on suspicion of torture.Martha Ferguson, 35, and Salvador Rendon, 42, allegedly tortured their victim April 17 and the person reported it to police two days later, said Mayra Lewis, spokesperson for the Turlock Police Department.Ferguson and Rendon were arrested Thursday morning following the police investigation and execution of a search warrant. She was booked into custody on suspicion of torture while Rendon was booked for torture, assault with a deadly weapon and a federal immigration hold.The victim's injuries were not life-threatening, Lewis said, adding she was not at liberty to divulge specifics of the alleged torture because the case was still being investigated.Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Det. A dead man's reputation took a major tumble in court Friday in one of Sacramento's more high-profile homicides in recent years.

A Sacramento Superior Court jury Friday acquitted Teng Thao, the alleged 'homeless hit man,' of murder charges in the Jan. 9, 2011, shotgun shooting death of Jenny Cha.
