Baker, Tim
Tim Baker Tim Baker, 66, of Woodlake, California passed away on April 3, 2014. He was born on August 6, 1947 to Tom and Mona Hannah Baker in Exeter, California. He attended several grade schools in Visalia, and graduated from Woodlake High School in 1965 where he excelled in football and swimming. He married Kathy Grindle Bohl in 1965, and together, they had 3 beautiful daughters, Barbara, Heidi, and Carie. He also started his career as a seasonal firefighter with the California Department of Forestry while still working for his Dad on the family ranch and summers in Sequoia Park. He married Margaret Ropes in 1982, and had another beautiful daughter, Courtney. Tim retired from the Department in 1998 after 33 years of service with the distinction of becoming the youngest man to attain the rank of Captain in the state. He was also a proud member of the Woodlake Lions for over 30 years. Tim was a strong conservative man who loved his country, John Wayne, The History Channel and the SyFy Channel. He was a serous WWII history buff and had an extensive collection of WWII aviation art. He loved driving his 1988 Cadillac to Smokey's Dead Rat Saloon to spend time with friends and family. He was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand. Tim is survived by his wife, Margaret, his daughters, Barbara Alexander, Heidi Deitz, Carie VanDellen, and Courtney Baker and her fiance, Lucas Birdwell. Grandchildren Jason (Julie) Alexander, Lexi Alexander, Dylan and Tyler Deitz, and first great-grandchild, a boy, due in July. He is also survived by his sister Debbie Dee, his step mom, Connie Baker, and step siblings, Bobby and Lori Baker, his Uncle Bill Baker and Richard Moriton, many cousins and his beloved cat, Buddy. He was preceded in death by both is his parents, and 2 sisters. Due to circumstances beyond our control, and family constraints, services were held April 8, 2014. We sincerely apologize for the manner in which this was done. Contributions can be made to Wounded Warriors Fund, the Valley Oak SPCA, or the NRA. See you again, DA-DOO.

John Edgar Walker John Edgar Walker, 83, of Tulare, California passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in Tulare. He was born December 14, 1930 in Fairplay, Missouri to Elmer William Walker and Esther Deborah Mitchum Walker. John married Patricia Lee Heath in Missouri on May 2, 1947. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War , with an honorable discharge. Patricia and John along with their daughter, Sandra Lee moved to California in 1956, where John worked as an equipment operator and retired from the Tulare County Road Department. John, with his partner owned Union 76 Service Stations in Visalia and orange groves in Lemon Cove. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia in 1994. John is survived by his son in law and daughter, John & Sandra Duvauchelle of Hawaii; his grandchildren John, Kyle, Jessica and Justin Beaver and great grandchild Emalani; his sister Mable Padilla; nieces Juanteece Chisim, Joanna French, Debbie Rico and nephew Rex Chisim. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 12 - 1 pm. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 134 Cypress in Woodlake, California with graveside services following at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlake Cemetery.
