Mrs. Roebuck was preceded in death by her parents, Deana Leola Rice and Julius "Chester Rucks; sisters, Emma Jane Rhudy and Willadean Julia Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Henagar United Methodist Church Youth Program in her memory. Funeral services will be on at 2 p.m. today, April 19, from Henagar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenn Mize officiating and burial in Unity Cemetery. Thomas Eugene "Gene" Lowery, 54, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday April 16, 2014. Gene was a native and lifelong resident of Catoosa County. Gene was a true public servant having worked with the Catoosa County Sheriffs Department for many years until being elected as Probate Judge 10 years ago. Judge Lowery was a member of Peavine Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board, Sunday School teacher, and sang with the Pipeline Quartet. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Sandy Moore Lowery; daughter and son-in-law, Casey (Danny) Plunkett, Ringgold; son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Katie) Lowery, Ringgold; parents, Jerry and Judy Pharr Lowery, Ringgold; brother, Bill (Sharone) Lowery, Ooltewah; sister, Chareen (Steve) Humble, Ringgold; granddaughter, Avery Plunkett. Visit to share condolences with the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Peavine Baptist Church, Next Generation Building Fund, PO Box 40, Rock Spring, GA 30739. Funeral services will be 5 p.m. today, April 19, at Peavine Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Anthony officiating. Private Interment will be in Peavine Cemetery. Opal L. Gibson, 88, of Ooltewah, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born April 10, 1926 in Reliance, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late Mike and Oma Boring of Cleveland, Tenn. A member of Brainerd Baptist Church, she was a prior member of Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful choir member for over 25 years. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila A. (Bob) Kincaid; grandchildren, Kristy (Travis) Hager, of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Rob (Carolyn) Kincaid, of Southern Pines, N.C. She is also survived by her great-grandsons, Liam and Jake Kincaid; one sister, Inez Robertson, of Ooltewah; and many nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Evans and the Rev Jim Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Visit to share words of comfort to the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Salvation Army. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
