Obituary for Marion McConnell
Marion McConnell Marion Ruth Brown McConnell, of Chattanooga, departed this life Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Marion was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Marshall County, Tenn., and attended Cornersville School where she met, and later married, the love of her life. God and her family were at the center of her very existence. She exhibited an inexpressible love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Marions commitment to God was evident through her daily walk with Him and her passion for mission work. Marion was preceded in death by parents, Isaac Allen Brown and Sadie N. Watt Brown; and a brother, Staley Brown. She is survived by her husband, Sherrell McConnell; daughters, Melissa McConnell, of Chattanooga, Michelle Pafford, of San Francisco, Calif., and Melanie Wiles, of Lewisburg, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Trey, Brennan, and Sheridan McNeil and Aaron, Natalie, and Trenton Wiles; and a sister, Agnes Chapman, of Lewisburg. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. EST Friday, April 18, at East Brainerd Church of Christ, 7745 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Brainerd Church of Christ mission fund, 7745 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. EST Thursday, April 17, at the funeral Home, and again Friday from noon-2 p.m. EST at the church. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Obituary for Thomas Crawford
Thomas Hampton Crawford, 74, died on Friday, March 14, 2014. The son of the late James Hampton and Kathryn Chalkley Crawford, he was born in Chattanooga and grew up on Lookout Mountain where he was an acolyte at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Mr. Crawford graduated from City High School in 1957 and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. Mr. Crawford worked for his fathers businesses, the Cavalier Corporation, Furniture Wholesalers, and Pro Golf in Chattanooga, as well as Oster Corporation and his own tax preparation business in Dayton. Mr. Crawford was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Dayton. He moved to Riverview following his retirement and continued his avid interests in UT football, billiards, politics, NASCAR racing and family genealogy. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jeffrey Scott and James Wesley Crawford. Survivors include his fianc, Patricia Caldwell Miller, of Chattanooga; daughter, Tommye Crawford (Mike) Pendergrass, of Pikeville; grandsons, Anthony and Shane (Patty) Pendergrass; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Ryder Pendergrass; sisters, Kathryn Wilcox, of Lewisburg, W.Va. and Susan Cornish, of Greenville, W.Va., and Claiborne Md.; five nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Following Mr. Crawfords wishes, his body will be donated to the Meharry Medical College. Family and friends will gather to share memories of his life from 2-4 p.m. on today, March 16, 2014 with a memorial service being held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
