Obituary for Louise Wiggins
Louise "Doodle" Wiggins, 89, of Hixson, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Soddy Daisy Health Care Center. Louise was beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was of the Church of God faith. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harold Wiggins; son, Sammy Wiggins; parents, Roy and Mamie McGowan; brothers, Richard, Lester and Leonard McGowan; sister, Marie Pack. Louise is survived by her sons, Bobby Wiggins and Randy (Margie) Wiggins; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Bingham and Janie McGowan. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel and from noon-1 p.m. on Friday, April 18. Funeral service for Louise will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating. Louise will be laid to rest with her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff, nurses and CNAs of Soddy-Daisy Health Care Center, special thanks to the actives department for their love and support and a big thanks to Gene Hodge for keeping her smiling and dancing all the time. Obituary for Susan Edmondson
Susan Hensley Edmondson, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Susan was born in Chattanooga and was in the first graduating class of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in 1973. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Susan taught English at Brainerd, Central High School and Soddy Daisy High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister who loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Betty Hensley. Susan is survived by her husband of 40 years, Louvain Edmondson; children, Ryan (Bethany Reed) Edmondson and Blaine (Jason) Kelley; sister, Kay Hensley (Robbie) Parson; aunt, Sylvia (Ronnie) Wendt; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral services for Susan will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in TennesseeGeorgia Memorial Park in Rossville. Obituary for Charles Lerch
Charles Edward "Eddie" Lerch, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 in his home with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Chattanooga, to the late Alma Norine Chadd Lerch and Charles Arlice Lerch. Eddie graduated from Central High School and played football for their state champion teams in 1954 and 1955. In the Navy Reserve he served time as a Petty Officer and was Honorably Discharged in May 1962. He was a former member of Brainerd Baptist Church. Eddie worked as an Ironworker for over 30 years locally. He was also a member of the Iron Workers Local 704, East Lake Mason Lodge #698, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Eddie is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Leland "Lee"; daughters, Cindy Lerch, of Loma Linda, Calif., and Shelly Stiefel and her husband, Donny, of Soddy Daisy; granddaughter, Brittany Brogdon and her fianc Chris Warren; and great-granddaughter, Emmalee. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Charlie Ray Young officiating. A private burial will be in Sparta, Tenn. Obituary for Elizabeth Welch
Elizabeth L. Welch, 69, a long time resident of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 in a Murfreesboro, Tenn., healthcare facility. She has three surviving daughters, Connie Nelson, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Pam Pitmon, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Nikki Meyer, of Chattanooga, Tenn. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Hollie Nelson, Hailie Nelson, Taybor Jetter, Madison Jetter, Carson Pitmon, Scharley Meyer and Zan Meyer; and two great grandchildren, Kylie Ridge and Raylie Freeman. Liz will always be remembered for her good home cooking and keeping the cleanest house ever! The family will gather in Chattanooga at a later date to celebrate her life and rejoice that she is walking with Jesus now.

Margie Burton Green, 85, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Soddy Daisy Healthcare. Margie was born May 26, 1928 in Sale Creek, Tenn. Her family relocated to Pikeville in the late 1930s due to the building of Chickamauga Dam. Margie married Ulys Haskell Green and lived much of her adult life in Sparta, Tenn. Pursuing a career in healthcare, she dedicated her life to caring for others-both people and animals. She enjoyed working in her gardens and doing needlework. Margie was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Bear Cove Baptist Church. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Ulys Haskell Green; parents, Walter and Ada Cunningham Burton and three siblings Margie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Jerome) England; grandson, Evan England; granddaughter, Mallory England, all of Jasper, Tenn.; brother, Walter Burton, of Pikeville, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. today, Jan. 26, 2014, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel and Monday, Jan. 27, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church from Noon- 2 p.m. CST. Funeral service for Margie will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Sparta, Tenn. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
