Henry David McCormick (Obituaries)
Henry David McCormick, 81, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Combination memorial service for David McCormick (died Feb. 14, 2014), 81 years old; and Helen McCormick (died March 1, 2013), 78 years old. Both of them died in Amarillo, Tx where they had lived for two years. Previous to that they had lived in Mason since 1997. Services will be officated by Mark Kirby at Mason Church of Christ, Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation with the family will be before the services at 2:00 p.m. There will be a private family graveside service at Gooch Cemetery. David was born Oct. 6, 1932, in Littlefield to William and Leta McCormick. He married Helen Grace Burnett June 19, 1954. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2013. Together they distributed the Christian Appeal for many years. David was known for watchmaking and spent many years working at Pantex. Before David lost his hearing, he was music instructor for the Bible Training Work in Kerrville and Amarillo. David and Helen were very active in church, where David served as an Elder for many years. After retiring from Pantex, David and Helen moved to their beloved home place in Mason, where they spent 15 years. They returned to Amarillo in 2012 due to health complications. Survivors include his children, Andrea De’Aun Bryan and her husband Dennis, Tolley David McCormick and wife Cheryl; six grandchildren Davi Bryan, Andrea Ward and husband Seth, Alan Bryan, Ross McCormick, Taylor McCormick and Tori Richards; three great-grandchildren Abigail, Grace and Elisheba Ward; a brother, John McCormick and wife Mary Annie of Austin; a sister, Leta Mae Hamblin and husband Orrin of San Antonio; and too many friends and loved ones to count. The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff at Plum Creek Healthcare and Interim Hospice for their loving care of Helen and David while they lived there. The family wishes to say thank you to Menard Manor as they led the way in providing long-term care for our parents.
