  • Crime of the Week 1693 (Fugitive-Lutchman)

    This week ... Fugitives are those wanted by law-enforcement on outstanding charges, yet who are still avoiding being captured. The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is ready and willing to use its resources to help law-enforcement locate these fugitives. Karheem David Graham-Lutchman Jr., aka “FRECK”, is wanted by the Chesterfield Police Department on a felony vandalism charge and trespassing. These charges stem from the Sept. 4 double-homicide on Chesdin Green Drive in Chesterfield. Lutchman is a black male who was born in 1993. He stands approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and has a freckled complexion. His last known address was on Greenford Drive in Henrico County, and also he has family and friends in the Central Virginia area. Crime Solvers reminds everyone that non-law-enforcement personnel should never attempt to detain or apprehend a person thought to be a fugitive.

    This week ... Crime Solvers needs your help to locate and identify the suspect involved in committing an act of fraud against Walmart. On Aug. 16, 2016, an unknown male entered the Walmart on Walmart Way in Midlothian. He approached one of the registers and selected a gift card off the rack. The thief was able to confuse the cashier into fraudulently purchasing a gift card utilizing a tactic against store employees commonly called, “flim-flam.” The suspect is described as a black male about 6 feet tall with a thin build.

    This week ... The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to catch the person, or people, who recently rummaged through cars in a Chesterfield neighborhood. During the overnight hours between Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29, several vehicles were illegally entered into in the area of Kriserin Circle in the Wellington Farms subdivision. CDs, flashlights and cash were taken from several vehicles. The thief or thieves also stole a custom-made JP Enterprises competition rifle. As a gentle reminder, keep cars locked when they are parked, even in your own driveway. Try to avoid storing valuables in your car. If you must leave them in your car, lock them up and keep them out of sight. If you have information about these car break-ins, or about any unsolved crimes or the persons involved in them, in Chesterfield County or Colonial Heights, you can submit a tip anonymously through the Crime Solvers program.   • Crime of the Week 1690 (Shooting on River Road)

    This week ... As we fast approach the height of hunting season, Crime Solvers would like to take this opportunity to ensure our community has a safe and enjoyable one. We are asking for your help with solving a shooting case. On Oct. 25, a resident was sitting in his home in the 16400-block of River Rd. Suddenly, he heard a gunshot and glass breaking. The resident soon discovered a bullet went through his window, passed through a couch and lodged into a wall. The investigation revealed the shooter likely attempted to illegally shoot a deer. Remember, hunters must have permission to enter private property to legally hunt deer. Any other attempt to shoot at an animal is strictly prohibited.
