West Hills is a part of Canoga Park which has been around since 1930, was named Owensmouth before that. West Hills is a neighborhood, not a city, named to separate itself from the other areas in the eighties. The name of the area (West Hills) was around before Canoga Park, it was part of Owensmouth. The Eastern part of Canoga Park is Winnetka and its Western is named West Hills, Woodland Hills is the Southern part and Chatsworth is the the North.
