Court Records

The Superior Court of California, County of Ventura operates three courthouse locations. The Hall of Justice at 800 South Victoria Avenue in Ventura is the main courthouse handling civil, criminal, and family law cases. The East County Courthouse at 3855-F Alamo Street in Simi Valley handles cases in the eastern part of the county. The Juvenile Justice Center at 4353 E Vineyard Avenue in Oxnard handles juvenile matters.

Arrest Records

Arrest records in Ventura County come from the arresting agency. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office, headquartered at 800 South Victoria Avenue in Ventura, operates the county jail system including the main jail and the East County (Todd Road) facility. City police departments in Oxnard, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and other cities handle arrests within their jurisdictions.

Ventura County maintains property and vital records through the County Clerk-Recorder's Office. The county operates under the California Public Records Act.

In person: Visit the Hall of Justice at 800 S Victoria Ave in Ventura. Office hours: Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

By mail: Submit a written request under the California Public Records Act to the office that holds the records.
