Q: How do I find records of murder suicide back in the 80s? (Ash Fork AZ)
by Christine
A:Libraries contain archived news columns, including publications that are no longer in circulation. There are many libraries offering online services and information about what they have. The first step you can take is to see where this occurred and look up which news entity which was local to the area. More than one publication can be checked, but starting with the local as opposed to the major news organization would be an easier search. From news columns covering this event, you can see the arresting agency and other data to help find even more information. Old or archived news is sometimes offered on microfilm, however, with new data storage technology, you may be able to get the information remotely as opposed to visiting the library at its physical location.

Q: Where do I find out if someone has been arrested? A: Yavapai County Jail- Camp Verde (928 567-7734) Whether the information you're looking for is free or not depends on who is providing it. Some charge a fee while others do not. There's always a cost related to providing records, the fees are to pass that cost, in full or partially, to the person requesting. Or it can be covered by the department's budget.
