Want to raft? Better do so rapidly
This year’s whitewater recreation season will be surprisingly long and robust on a few Northern California rivers. A rafting expedition with All-Outdoors California Whitewater Rafting in 2010 negotiates the south fork of the American River – a waterway that experts say will run well throughout the summer. White water outfitters are pleased that this year's season will be surprisingly long and robust on some rivers in Northern California. On popular free-flowing rivers such as the Merced, the whitewater rafting season will be limited to the early snow melt – which was not the case when these rafts rolled down the river in May 2012. Whitewater outfitters predict a busy rafting summer on some rivers in Northern California, including the Klamath and Trinity, both used by River Dancers outfitters of Mount Shasta.
