Where can I find out if directories such as the Yellow Pages are the best way to locate people?
Although online directories do much more than the print version did in the past, there are other means of searching for people. There are online sources that offer photos along with the name. There's no single best source to look for. An individual or everyone would have been using it, and we'd all hear about how great it is. The best source to use in searching for a person depends on the trail they left behind. This causes the name to appear in different places. For example, if they owned property in an area, were involved in a court case, were mentioned in periodicals, on social media sites, etc. It's best to have as much information to start, especially if the name you're searching for is common. In that case, collect as much information about the person as possible during your searches, such as the middle initial/name, date of birth, or age. This will help you narrow the search and better identify when there are many others with the same name. Also, look up as many aliases/other names under the same person, such as a maiden name. There are many data banks with names and addresses most people don't realize. One example is when you believe the person owned a business, you can conduct a state-wide search under the individual or business name. Look and utilize as many name databanks as you see during your search since you can't tell without seeing what it will reveal. Most of these online searches are free, and you can see the results immediately.
