Tualatin School House Pantry wins $10,000 from online contest
Food bank serves families in Tualatin, Lake Oswego, Durham and West Linn The food bank serving needy families in Tualatin, Lake Oswego, West Linn and Durham won $10,000. SafeCo Insurance hosted an online contest to benefit charities of local agents. Tualatin-based Miller Insurance entered the contest to support Tualatin School House Pantry. After becoming one of 23 finalists, Miller Insurance and the pantry were among the top four vote recipients to win a $10,000 grant. With an additional grant provided to finalists, Tualatin School House Pantry gets $12,000 overall. This award comes after a Brookings Institute and Oregonian analysis showed Tualatin had the fastest-growing poverty in the Metro-area during the last decade. --Fenit Nirappil;
