In Alabama, county recorders provide various documents to the public. Deed information can be requested from the county’s official site. All counties however do not provide the same easy service in obtaining the property records and have yet to implement a viable public source to the documents. Recorder’s offices fall under the probate court, so when looking for deeds, the link to the probate court will probably mention how to obtain property records.
All background checks or even criminal history checks are not equal as to their coverage. This means that there are criminal history searches that are better and more comprehensive than others. Checking the coverage would tell you what they search. One example is that the more recent criminal records do not appear in background checks, so a criminal case search at the courthouse, whether online or in person needs to be conducted. There are several searches you can conduct on your own without requesting a full background check. Other than cases at the courthouse, the department of corrections offers a public viewing of inmates by name and will show the photo, description, offenses, release date, length of sentence and more. Periodicals that are online make it easier to look up offenders in a certain area. There are wanted lists as well as warrant searches that can be found online. Some of it has to do with luck as technology is still being implemented but has not fully caught up.
